大致而言教皇新堡使用葡萄品種多以格那希Greneche為主，Tardieu-Laurent 更是釀製 Greneche 的好手中的好手。Greneche 晚熟的特性, 適合種植於炎熱乾燥的環境，酸度單寧低，酒色較淺，釀造的酒帶有辛香料和豐富的莓漿果、胡椒，酒精濃度高卻有柔順的口感,表現淋漓盡致。

Tardieu-Laurent Cuvee Speciale 2012Robert Parker Tasting Notes : Coming all from the La Crau lieu-dit and sandy soils, the 100% Grenache, 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Speciale is a gorgeous, medium to full-bodied barrel sample that gives up loads of plum sauce, blackberry, garrigue, saddle leather and pepper on the nose. Aged all in 3 to 5-year-old barrels, it is an elegant, yet rich and concentrated effort that will have 12-15 years of longevity. Drink 2015-2027.

Fresh and succulent, with well-stitched damson plum, cherry and blackberry fruit. Warm fruitcake and bergamot notes hang in the background. A flash of shiso leaf lines the silky finish. Drink now through 2026. 650 cases made.
