Bruno Giacosa 總是可以釀出最偉大的 Barolo,Piedmont 裡三位令人景仰的大師分別是– Bruno Giacosa、和兩位已凋零的 Bartolo Mascarello、 Giacomo Conterno。三位都是窮盡一生心血要釀出臻於完美境界的葡萄酒,其偉大的貢獻令人景仰不已, 儘管Giacosa先生已高齡 84 歲了,仍堅持在酒莊中督促後進釀酒職人精神。在歷史橫亙、名家無數的義大利皮孟產區,從Barbaresco & Barolo & Langhe與Roero,Bruno Giacosa可說是義大利皮孟地區公認的偉大級教父,可以稱上是義大利五大酒莊之一。

Few great winemakers from the era of Bruno Giacosa are still with us, but the 87-year-old, with the help of his daughter Bruna, remains dedicated to producing some of the most amazing red wines in the world. Bruno started making wines with his father during World War II. He is acknowledged as one of maestros in terms of his detailed and arcane understanding of the best vineyards in the Langhe. Legend has it that he can tell the quality of a vineyard simply through tasting the grapes. The Giacosas make wines with impeccable depth and finesse that are easily comparable with the very best of Burgundy. I always liken their incredible Barolos and Barbarescos to the reds of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Giacosa’s Barolos are some of my favorite wines on earth. —James Suckling, Editor
Wine Spectator Tasting Notes: Round and supple, with firm tannins underneath, this red evokes cherry, wild strawberry, tobacco, leather and underbrush flavors. Harmonious in a taut, dense way, offering a long, savory finish. Becomes racier with air, showing fine energy and drive. Best from 2017 through 2032. 1,184 cases made.
Robert Parker Tasting Notes: The 2009 Barolo Le Rocche del Falletto comes from a south-facing parcel with steep slopes for well-draining soils. The vines are approximately 35 years old. There-s a touch of extra ripeness here, even a hint of strawberry, backed by rich berry fruit, cassis and blackberry. The wine shows its most elegant side in the mouth, where the firming, polished tannins give the wine backbone and grace. It-s deliciously silky and extra fine with microscopic precision. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2036.
