義大利酒最迷人之處就是有很多特有的義大利當地原生葡萄品種，這些原生葡萄適合生長在特別的風土氣候中，為當地風土條件葡萄酒帶來獨特的一番特別風味。
Umbria是位於義大利中部一個小型精緻產區，與 Tuscany、Marches 和 Latium 產區相鄰，四面環山，宛如西鄰 Tuscany 的延伸。
在1971年Arnaldo Caprai 憑藉著其對於美和真的事物的喜愛與熱情，專注於培育與改良已在 Umbria 當地超過 400年 Sagrantino 本土葡萄，兒子 Marco Caprai 在 1988 年接手管理酒莊後，除了收購葡萄園並建造現代化的釀酒廠以外，還與米蘭大學合作研究 Sagrantino 的來源與變種，務求找到這種葡萄最好的品種（clone）。Marco Caprai積極用心的程度，不僅讓 Arnoldo Caprai 獲得歐洲年度酒莊－Wine Enthusiast 2013年度最佳風雲酒莊殊榮，更是獲得 Gambero Rosso 2006大獎，讓 Arnoldo Caprai 酒莊極有可能成為 Umbria 地區的 Angelo Gaja 。

Caprai • Montefalco Sagrantino 【25 Anni ”25 周年” 旗艦酒款】2010Robert Parker Tasting Notes: Arnaldo Caprai is one of the most accomplished vintners in Umbria and Italy for that matter. The 2010 Montefalco Sagrantino 25 Anni is the latest edition of this producer’s top shelf expression. The 25 Anni line is always spectacular, although I confess to hoping for more from this excellent vintage. Perhaps my heart was taken by the 2006 Montefalco Sagrantino Spinning Beauty that stole the show this year. The 25 Anni is a dark, masculine and brooding wine with meaty aromas of black fruit, spice, tar and Teriyaki smoke. The aromas show some signs of oxidation. The tannins are very evident and the wine ends with a sharp blast of astringency. The wine already tastes evolved at this relatively young stage in its life, so I’m not confident it can stand the long period of cellar aging required to soften those jackhammer tannins.
從完全封閉到綻放，廣大完整的骨架，黑莓醬到玫瑰、肉豆蔻到胡椒、松脂到薄荷、丁香到可可，有令人讚嘆的複雜香氣變化。口感：口感柔順動人，酒體飽滿，新鮮、單寧變化多、餘味顯著而持久。

The 2010 Montefalco Sagrantino Collepiano delivers on my expectations. If you are new to Sagrantino, this wine is a great place to start. You get an authentic taste of the power and sheer determination of the tannic Sagrantino grape, but the contours have been softened and controlled by the careful attention that this estate is known for. Prune, dark plum and blackberry are at the core of this super dense wine. Spice, leather, Spanish cedar and chewing tobacco also play prominent roles. Collepiano is built to last.
