大家都知道在美國拍賣市場或是英國倫敦股票公開所葡萄酒消費指數,絕對可以說少不了 Harlan Estate (哈蘭酒莊)和嘯鷹酒莊（Screaming Eagle）,這二家膜拜酒既可收藏且可以增值的名作。Harlan葡萄園位在Napa Valley 的Oakville，就在大名鼎鼎的 Matha’s Vineyard 西側。它的歷史不長，西元1984才成立，不過它的目標很清楚：「這是一款擺在燭光晚餐上的酒，不是一般貨架的酒」。此外，Harlan Estate 自許要成為加州的「一級酒莊」膜拜酒，它第一個釀製年份是1990，卻一直有耐心等到1996年才上市，可說是長達六年之久，就是希望呈現在酒友面前是一瓶完美無暇,任何缺點都不可發生的完美精品 !
【The Mascot】一開始只是一個混釀實驗，Will Harlan說服家人及釀酒團隊提供以Harlan酒莊、The PROMONTORY 酒莊及Bond Estate 酒莊，採用頂尖6號較年輕卡本內葡萄酒液混釀出一瓶酒，用於家庭和朋友聚會中使用，連名字都沒有取，直到2008年推出第一個【The Mascot】上市年份後，這瓶真正出自哈蘭酒莊之手的神秘隱藏版才真正的對外曝光，至今到現在大家只聞其名，卻不見其酒，完全不賣美國消費者，產量比自家的Harlan Estate 及 Bond Estate 還少，美國本土自己也看不到 !
Harlan Estate 【 The Mascot 】年產3200箱，一向不易買到。產量少、配額更少，跟 Harlan Estate 同樣，一堆都是在 Mailing List 與高級餐廳。 【The Mascot】是一款Harlan Estate全力以赴的新酒，又有Bob Levy釀酒師與Michel Rolland組成的堅強團隊加持，打造出美國最偉大最成功的一支酒，The Mascot 以一個獨特的視角詮釋這Harlan Estate莊園的演變，J. Rabinson說「為何其它酒不能像此酒一樣？」，更稱其為「20世紀 十款最好的酒之一」。
值得一提的是，Harlan Estate 酒標，皆用採用雕版印刷術進行印刷的，除了具有防偽的作用外，Bill Harlan覺得採用雕版印刷術印刷出來的酒標更具有溫度和深度。其 The Mascot酒標非常特別，是一隻英國鬥牛犬，名為「王子」。這隻鬥牛犬是100年前印刷在銀行股票證書上，當時美國匹茲堡農民存款國家銀行總裁(Farmers Deposit National Bank of Pittsburgh) 委託雕刻在該銀行的股票憑證上。這隻英國鬥牛犬在銀行內問候著銀行的客戶及員工)，象徵銀行忠實、忠誠及為客戶服務的精神價值。

An otherwise even growing season in 2015 was made memorable by an earthquake that struck the Napa Valley in the early-morning hours of August 24th. Dry conditions that normally prevail at that time of year were unexpectedly altered; the geologic event had shifted the water table to the extent that many seasonal streams began to flow once again. This unusual circumstance brought unaccustomed moisture from the depths and, with it, renewed energy to many of the soils throughout the valley. In the wake of this phenomenon, we noticed subtle changes to the younger vines of BOND, Harlan Estate, and Promontory, which grew more vibrant as harvest approached. The resulting wine reflects this vibrance in its lift and flow across the palate, with its quality ringing true to the pedigree of its parent sites. Red fruit and baking spice intermingle on the nose, while on entry, the wine is soft, gently accelerating as it reveals athletic structure and shape, culminating in transparency and poise.
