然而今天要介紹的這家相對較新的Massimo Piccini酒莊起於西元1999年，位於傳說般的貝格瑞沿海地區，以果味豐富又富多層次變化結構的Super-Tuscans 聞名。雖成立時間不長，但卻可以在短短的幾年之內成為 Bolgheri 地區一家頂尖高品質精品酒莊，【整家酒莊只釀二款葡萄酒：Sapaio 和 Vlopolo】，酒莊面積將近40公頃，只有其中25公頃用來種植葡萄，就只釀二款酒，沒錯，就只有釀二款酒，可見這二款酒足以代表他們的用心程度!
以酒莊直接命名的 Sapaio Bolgheri Superiore 散發豐富而持久花朵香氣，口感厚實集中，James Suckling 還記得當他在 2004年與義大利最著名的釀酒師 Carlo Ferrini 第一次品嘗 Sapaio 的時候，兩人對於 Sapaio 酒質感到令人驚喜且非常出色。
義大利Class Editori 媒體集團旗下的月刊《紳士（Gentleman）》雜誌發表義大利百大葡萄酒 Top 100，參考了《Wine Spectator》、《The Wine Advocate》和 James Suckling的2016年度全球葡萄酒榜單的評選結果，最終綜合八家專業榜單的評選結果，確定了 Top 100 榜行榜的義大利葡萄酒排名。然而 Podere Sapaio 酒莊的 Sapaio 多次列入前20名之內!

James Suckling Tasting Notes :Chili powder, dark fruits and flowers on the nose. Full body, with chewy tannins that are polished and caressing. Very beautiful. Bordeaux blend. Needs two or three years to soften. (8/2012)
Wine Enthusiast Tasting Notes: A concentrated blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this opens with dark spice and chocolate notes, followed by luscious blackberry, prune and plum tones. International Wine Report Tasting Notes: The 2014 ‘Volpolo’ is an absolutely tremendous effort in this vintage. This impressive blend is composed of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon along with Merlot and Petit Verdot. It instantly opens with wonderful aromas of blackberries and dark cherries woven together with tobacco, spices and crushed stones. This is full-bodied and well structured with wonderful balance and well integrated tannins, which grip firmly on the long finish. This is an amazing value and extremely impressive right now. James Suckling Tasting Notes: A barrel and parcel selection of Sapaio’s younger vines, this wine offers way more sunshine and guts than the average second wine” of Bordeaux. Comprised of roughly 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 15% Petit Verdot, this is so soft and seductive, perfumed with violets, raspberry jam, cedar, and cigar box notes. We had to have it for its remarkable value and palate impact for the price! 93 Points
